Dulce de Leche

For half a liter of Dulce de Leche: 

1 liter of full milk 
250 grams of sugar 
1 vanilla pod 
1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda 

Boil the milk in a saucepan and add the sugar, vanilla and baking soda. Then, lower the heat to a slow boil and stir continuously with a spoon so that the mixture does not stick to the bottom of the saucepan. When the mixture starts to change color, and thickens, take a small spoonful and put it on a plate. If the mixture sticks to the spoon then it is ready to take off the fire. Stir a bit more and let it cool. Enjoy!
